(ATL Live) - A longstanding outdoor theatre tradition is returning to DeKalb County with a refreshed evening format, an expanded artistic partnership, and free admission for the community. Evolving from its previous run as A Shakespeare Happening, the newly renamed Shakespeare at Sunset brings professional productions directly into public green spaces. The initiative brings together creative leadership and local support to make classical literature and performance arts approachable for audiences of all ages. Nicole Sage, producer of Bard x Sage PR, and Allen O’Reilly, creative director of Georgia Classic Theatre—who also portrays William Shakespeare to narrate the presentations—stopped by ATL Live to discuss the upcoming schedule. The series is presented through backing from DeKalb County Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry alongside the City of Avondale Estates, which provides access to the Town Green for the community gatherings. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy full-length classic productions paired with live music, youth-focused storytelling, and direct interaction with the actors.
